Inception Phase for Integrated Support for a Sustainable Urban Environment (ISSUE - 2)
Funding agency   WASTE -Netherlands
Description   The programme is currently in its inception phase which is working to facilitate the establishment of strong district programme consortia supported by stakeholders platforms, collaborations, MOUs, and similar institutional relationships.
The ISSUE-2 Programme is a waste management project which features a number of concepts:
1.District Approach
This approach focuses more or less on closing the loop, between urban and rural areas. The ISSUE-2 Programme will develop sanitation and integrated urban management plans in selected areas to encourage re-use of resources, particularly those rural resources which are often disposed of in urban areas.
2.Integration of solid waste and sanitation
Integration is about deliberately mixing waste system elements (storage – collection – transport – processing/treatment – reuse) for solid waste and sanitation. This programme will investigate the most effective options for addressing waste issues.

Consultancy for Physical Verification of Assets (2007 and 2008)
Funding agency   RERED Project
Description   The RERED Project initially targeted providing electricity access to 100,000 households through home bases solar/wind systems and independent mini grids fed by micro hydros, wind and biomass generators; electricity 1000 small and medium rural enterprises through renewable energy resources; and add 85MW capacity through grid connected renewable energy power plants. With additional financing, Project aims to provide electricity access to a further 60,000 households through home based solar/wind systems and independent mini-grids fed by micro hydros, wind and biomass generators; electricity additional 500 small and medium rural enterprises through renewable energy resources;and add a further 50 MW capacity through grid connected renewable energy power plants. The objective of this assignments is to verify the existence of assets as per records at AU of the sub projects financed under RERED project during 2007 and 2008.The sub-projects are categorised as grid-connected, off-grid community b
