A ceremony for receiving the Ryutaro Hashimoto APFED Silver Award.
|
|
|
|
Federation of Electricity Consumer Societies (FECS) which was established in 2002, has a membership of 200 active member societies, serving 10,250 families and facilitating the supply of electricity to some 51,000 persons. In recognition of the work done in the off-grid sector 2009 Ryutaro Hashimoto APFED (Asia Pacific Forum for Environment and Development) Silver Prize Award was granted to FECS and the Energy Forum.
The Energy Forum & FECS hold the 7th Annual General Meeting and a ceremony for receiving the Ryutaro Hashimoto APFED Silver Award on 15th September 2009, Sri Lanka Foundation Institute.
The following guests addressed the gathering.

" Think Tank a New Sri Lanka in the New World"

The EF together with the Green Movement of Sri Lanka conducted the inaugural meeting of the 'Think Tank for a New Sri Lanka in the New World' on June 5th, 2009 with the participation of the Hon. Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka.

Ryutaro Hashimoto APFED Award for Energy Forum
|

|
|
Energy Forum has won the Silver Prize of the 2009 Ryutaro Hashimoto APFED Award ( Asia Pacific Forum for Environment and Development) for our project titled: "Establishing private, public and civil society partnerships for ensuring the long term sustainability of the off-grid community based renewable energy power projects in Sri Lanka". The Ryutaro Hashimoto APFED Awards for Good Practices (GPs) aim at promoting information dissemination of good practices towards sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific. The initiative collects lessons and experiences from innovative activities implemented in the region in order to promote sustainable development and share knowledge and wisdom with other stakeholders concerned.
